In this Lecture at Chafer Theological Seminary’s Pastors’ Conference, I examine the doctrine of preservation, which is first and foremost a theological issue. Topics of discussion include: texts which speak of preservation, inspiration and preservation as corollaries, the numbers in Genesis 5 and 11, Masoretic “fundamentalism”, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and repetition v. resignification.
